Gamblers Sweet Perfection
2006 Buckskin TWHBEA Mare
Sold!
Congratulations to Jan Sukrau of Newport Beach, California

Have you ever seen a
more perfect buckskin filly? We feel that she is
possibly the finest buckskin filly in
the industry. She is incredibly intelligent - a trait
she has inherited from both her sire and dam. Her
conformation is just perfect and her gait is to die for.
This little girl is outstanding with absolutely NO
markings!!! This is what everyone has been looking
for.
It is hard to say
what her color will be. Her sire was a pale buckskin as
a colt and then became deep gold and dappled. Her full
brother is a deep butterscotch palomino with plenty of
dapples. We will have to see how she sheds out in the
spring.
She comes from a
cross that has proven itself to be phenomenal. Her dam's
heavy Pride lines cross exceptionally well with her
sire's No-Pride background. Through
her sire,
Golden Gambler, he carries the blood of Roy Rogers'
Trigger Jr (Allen's
Gold Zephyr),
the great show horse known as
Hill's Perfection, as well as the
well-known greats
Ebony Masterpiece,
Sun's Delight D.,
Merry Go Boy,
Mack K's Handshaker and
Triple Threat. Through
her dam, Threat's Sweet
Pride, she carries the blood of Ebony's Threat A,
Ebony
Masterpiece, Triple Threat, Pride's Genius, and
Pride of Midnight H.F.
She is HOMOZYGOUS
for black, meaning she can never throw chestnut,
palomino, or cremello foals. This gives you a better
chance for buckskin foals. If bred to double agouti bay,
buckskin, or perlino stallions she will produce bay,
buckskin or perlino foals only. With her being
homozygous for black, you could also breed her to double
agouti chestnut, palomino, and cremello stallions
without getting red based foals. Bred to a
perlino/cremello homozygous for the agouti her foals
would either be buckskin or perlino only (50% chance of
each.)

An
update on March 28th from Jan Sukrau:
"Sweetpea
is doing fine. I have renamed her this as I
call all my animals sweetpea and this seem
fitting because of her registered name.......
Everyone loves having a baby
around, but she is going to
go over to the other stable
so she can play with the
other young ones. However,
everyone will miss her.
She continues to shed and I
will take some pictures
probably this weekend or
next. She has grown since
she has gotten here and had
her hooves trimmed and was a
perfect lady. She goes on
the hot walker, has had a
bareback pad on her and
follows my lead when we walk
together. She is very
trusting and I work hard not
to harm that trust. "
